Women's Softball Update

NCAA Softball is back underway this season and has seen some upsets already. The 2010 Women's College World Series Champions, UCLA, have already lost to unranked Arkansas this year. The powerhouse of a team only moved down in the rankings one spot, leaving Georgia the only team ahead of them. Other top teams have suffered losses, but remain highly ranked as well. This includes 2010 Women's College World Series runner-up, Arizona (3), and local favorite, Oklahoma (6). In fact, the Big 12 boasts seven teams currently ranked in the top 25 as of February 22.

Changes in the standings are bound to happen because softball is still in the preseason stages of the year and teams have played only 10-12 games. With around 40 games for each team to compete in before playoffs, anything could happen.

This year the Women's College World Series will be held in Oklahoma City at the ASA Hall of Fame Stadium from June 2 through June 8 (see below for times). All session tickets can be purchased now on Ticketmaster.com and single session tickets will be available though Ticketmaster.com beginning the week of the event.
