our history

While the Oklahoma City All Sports Association was originally created in 1957 to support and maintain the All-College Basketball Tournament, its mission has expanded to more than 250 events in Oklahoma City, including 28 NCAA Championships since 1983.

Events hosted by the All Sports Association benefit Oklahoma City by providing quality athletic competition, family entertainment options and a boost to the city’s economy. At the same time, the events garner widespread attention and attract visitors from around the globe to Oklahoma City. All Sports is responsible for creating more than 25,000 room nights per year. In addition, at least $30,000,000 in new money is brought to Oklahoma City every year as a result of our events.

The Oklahoma City All Sports Association is a non-profit 501-C3 corporation, governed and directed by 41 non-compensated board members and managed by a seven person staff.

Since 1983, All Sports has co-sponsored 28 NCAA Division I Championships through 2006, 10 of which have been since 1998. There are 23 individual NCAA Division I Championships held each year.

For the 12th consecutive year, All Sports has adopted John Adams Elementary School as a part of the Adopt A School program.
